Shells are lovely natural objects, unmatched in beauty like flowers or butterflies.

The most amazing part about shells is their diversity- in shape, size, colour, and in texture. A shell enthusiast can be wonderstruck by nature’s beauty in such diversity. As they are the left-over remains when the animal dies, there are countless shells spread over beaches and sea-beds. They serve as an inexhaustible, rich, and readily available natural resource.

Six assortments of shells and coloured sand in three colours have been specially selected for this kit. The size and shapes of these shells lend themselves well to making designs on flat surfaces using the adhesive provided in the kit. By some very crafty combinations of shells and coloured sand, you can make as many as six fridge magnets. and 3 mini photo frames which can be put up n the fridge.

Seashell mosaic displays for your fridge

There are six small board cut-outs in the shapes of shells provided in this kit. These can be made into shell fridge magnets by sticking the shells on the surface using the adhesive. Depending on what you want to make first, the cut-out is selected. You can refer to the fridge magnets shown on the box cover as reference leads. After the shells have been arranged and stuck on the cut-outs, the balance areas, if any, can be stuck with the coloured sand.

By some very crafty combinations of shells, one can make some very interesting mosaic designs on the borders of the 3 frame cut-outs that are provided in this kit. One first needs to make a rough pattern by placing the shells on the frame. Once satisfied, one needs to glue them on using the adhesive provided in the kit.

On each of the cut-outs and photo frames, magnet strip cut-outs are stuck on the back and then they can be displayed on the fridge. You need to check out which side of the sheet is magnetic by testing it on the fridge. The adhesive is applied on the non-magnetic side of each piece. Stick these on the bottoms of the displays using the adhesive provided in the kit and keep aside to dry.

A totally rewarding experience is derived by doing this hobby kit and you can display your prized creations.

HOW DOES IT WORK? – Using the craft glue provided in the kit the shells can be stuck to the shell-shaped mountboard cutouts to make these mini fridge magnets. Follow the same procedure for the photoframes.The coloured sand is stuck in the empty spaces followed by sticking the rubberized magnet pieces on the back of the cutouts. The activity is quite simple and keeps children busy for hours.
WHAT DO WE LEARN?– The minimum age for this activity is 7years. Adults can also indulge in this superb art & craft activity, as the collection of shells is very exclusive and unique.
